Is there any actual proof that the US dropped the a-bomb on Japan? I see a lot of finger pointing, but it was all so long ago. Really, it could have been anyone, possibly Russia, China, Germany or even Australia (they have several uranium mines and are descended from criminals).
I just think it's important to get the facts straight. Are we even sure it was an abomb (and not just a really, REALLY big normal bomb)? Maybe Japan faked the bombing for attention?

The sad thing about this attack is that people are still suffering from it unlike the napalm attacks [which killed more].
Well some napalm attacks deformed people but they didnt cause the health complications caused by these nukes [radiation].

Mate be honest, are u high or something..and besides the US dropped the bomb, they made the bomdb, the piolts were AMerican....and in my opinion they saved millions of lives in those two days. So i thank what America had done, can u imagine millions of Allied troops invading Japan after the events in Okinawa, or a Russian occupation of Japan, then we have a situation liek Nth an Sth Korea in Japan

Your right, they were following orders, what macAurthur shoudl ahve doen si execute Hirohito, but MacArthur needed him as a puppet to keep the Japanese population under control after the war. So Hirohito unfourtunatly went on his life without any trial for hsi crimes. And please if ur gonna comment that he is innocent, read a book or find a documentry, not a Wikipedia, Britanica or Encarta...or one the text books the sell in Japan

Why did Hirohito not get trialed for his crimes? Do the research, he refused to surrender his nation after the 2 atomic bombs, US didnt want more blood to spilled so we [USA] negotiated with him, his negotiation was that he doesnt get trialed nor dethroaned thus he will wave the white flag.
Great emperor huh? Would let Japan get nuked again unless hes not trialed for the crimes he commited, yet you defend him.

They saved the lives of Allied troops, and allied people, you are right on that regard. But what constitutes one life's right over the other? Everyone deserves to live, for human beings are all created equal. Civilians in Hiroshima, and Nagasaki were people like you and me. They did not deserve to die like this.

deelink, firstly thanks for not attacking me or try to start a fight with me online, i appreciate that. And yes they were civilians, and they didn't deserve to die like that. But neither did the Jews, Homosexuals, mentally ill or gypsies at the hand of the Nazis, or the Allied POW caputred by the Japanese during the War. What iam saying is, in war..the worst of humanity is revealed. But in times of war and u just want 2 end it, u do anything 2 stop it. The bomsb were the only solution

Sorry i need to continue, not attacking u here my freind since u didn't do that to me. The two solutiosn were blocakde for years, starving the Japanese into surrender or Invasion. Invasion meant millions of civilans killed, millions of allied dead in te invasion alone, Russian invading Japan, 1/2 of Japan will be communsit.other democratic..then we have a situation liek Nth and Sth Korea or Japan civil war. Not saying communisim is evil, but a situation lie this would be dire!!

Yoshino, the invasion never happened but would have happened if the Nukes wern't dropped. Imagine it, Russian invades Japan, when the war is over the land in Japan they ahve taken woudl be a communist are, the Americans would have the sth, and under democratic control. I just read the synopsis, i may actually read the movie, i jus thope it does not portray Hirohito as the guy who always tried to end the war from the beggining he was to blame for most of it. It was only at the end he became sensibel and surrenderd, but only after the US bombed them into submission.
