Some scenes put together showing the death of Niobe in the last episode of the first Rome season. A VERY tragical scene with fantastic acting. I cut out the scenes of Atia and Servilia and of the murder of Julius Caesar. Brilliant series. Check out my video of the murder of Julius Caesar.

I hated Niobe. She slept with her sister's husband. The only reason why she stopped seeing him was because Vorenus came back. She hurt her sister deeply and didn't care. Niobe than tried to pass her baby off as her daughter's. Niobe was a selfish bitch.
I feel really sorry for what happened to their children and what happened to Vorenus.

You hear stories about people surviving falls from the 4th or 5th floor, but Niobe managed to kill herself jumping from the 1st floor. Quite an accomplishment.

Here are a few reasons why you're an idiot.
1) If you actually look at the stairs going up to their insula (apartment building), they're actually closer to being on the third floor, and dying from a fall like that is plausible.
2) She fell backwards so there was a much greater possibility of head, neck, or spine injury. It might not have been instantly fatal, but without modern medical help she would have died soon after.
3) Don't insult Niobe! She just died and we love her, you cold bastard!

\This is what I call first-rate acting. I was so angry when I heard that they were ending the show because it was so expensive. This show had far more substance than all the tripe that passes for entertainment nowadays. With the TV now inundated with reality shows, a million generic crime scene investigation shows, and teeny bopper soap operas, it was nice to have a show like Rome, which had superb acting and great cinematography which brought history to life.

Harsh life in those days- husband away for a decade, don't even know if he's alive, and you're supposed to stay celibate? Vorenus probably indulged a few times with prostitutes or slaves. There's that insane double standard. Yet, unfortunately, I found Niobe incapable of inspiring much sympathy. I think they cast the wrong actress. I was only really sorry for Vorenus, and the boy when he walked up to see his mother dead.
