i thought it was pretty good... that is until i heard the chorus. people from this generation just do not have the same heart as those from the previous generation, and this is precisely why they seldom do justice in their covers.

I think Tina is a great singer, and this version is good, too. Obviously, the gospel choruses on the original are overwhelming, and Lou Gramm in one of the BEST voices in rock history. Nevertheless, Tina did a good "chick version" out of it. Props!

Mick Jones was involved with the production of this cover; he even invited Lou Gramm to provide backing vocals. I can't recall whether Gramm took him up on the offer or not; the timing might have been around the time of the discovery of Gramm's tumor. I can't say I hear his his voice in this, though this is the first time I've actually heard it and the audio quality is limited. Nevertheless Mick Jones was involved and it had his explicit approval.
