This is a perfect example of Liberal Extremists controlling the decisions of the general (unsuspecting) public. I understand that some Hippies are against any form of plastic, but I am sick of hippies claiming that plastic cannot decompose, and using that false assertion to control what products we use in our daily lives. Plastic doesn't magically creep into our oceans and strangle all sea life. These are just lies made by hippies to scare gullible Americans into using products they manufacture.

your an idiot who said it just affects marine life? it does look hippy crap, and plastic does decompose..but how long does it take???? where are they stored meanwhile??? landfills that's where they end up until they decompose..now how does that affect us???..what if instead of wasting all the space and all the resources and pollutants needed to store those bags until they decompose we simple re-use them.. or not use them at all. there are many alternatives so STFU you gullible idiot

Wouldn't it be easier to use old VHS tape instead of all them bags, as ever stretch a cassette or VHS tape ? It basically turns into a thin plastic rope.

Well, since both are basically a plastic, they would both be water proof, with the main difference in the color.
I noticed that when stretched, both VHS & cassette tape will not only stretch out, but start to curl in upon itself, forming a circular rope like appearance.
The trouble is, everything you make out of it would be one color.

I'm wondering if you can combine melting.crocheting to create thick waterproof winter coats?? I've also seen people use polymers like cooking oil to break down the plastics chemically-then pouring it into a mold. its pretty fascinating how useful this waste product could be- if harnessed and seriously pursued. cool idea methinks.
