ARTOONIX and EXPRESS ANIMATOR - Childhood's End
Uploaded by: AlanSturgess
Video Description:
A short animated movie inspired by Arthur C Clarke's stories '2001', 'Childhood's end' and 'The nine billion names of God'. For the text of that short story, look here:

The main program used to make this little movie was ARTOONIX but the star movements were tweened using EXPRESS ANIMATOR.
(v1.7 of Artoonix was subsequently released in April 2008 and now offers tweening)
For anyone who is interested in using Artoonix, I thoroughly recommend that you download v1.7 and try it. You only keep access to tweening if you register the software but this isn't expensive and at the price, you get what is probably the most powerful and versatile piece of animation software that is currently available. You can use it for stick figures; animating traditional drawn cartoons; animating sequential stop-frame style images - in fact, virtually anything you care to imagine. It doesn't offer any form of 'bones' but that aside, it's darn near unbeatable. And don't forget - most of its functions can be used free of charge for as long as you wish.

(PS: No, I'm not one of the developers, just a keen user).

And why do you think my Artoonix movies were all meant to be 'funny'? Personally, I don't think blood and violence make good humour, not without the skill of people like Tarantino or Wes Craven.
Anyway. It's academic. I no longer use Artoonix.
