For those of us that have a job, 99% of house buying in the UK & in America is current a terrible investment if owned for a sustained period of time & if financed in the main via bank loan. It is highly likely it will become a financial ball & chain around your ankle for the forseeable
future, effectively trapping you to a particular home and location in the world & as well as making your lifestyle poor due to repayments within a recession/depression & making you a slave to your job.
