im not really a fan of the brass on the fantom but i got the orchestra expansion board and it has some create brass sections and even solo instruments on it
but the synth brass on the fantom is sooo smooth makes up for the lack of acoustic brass

Well, not quite, first there is no sequencer on it, so you need a computer + software (like Cubase) for that, and second, there is no sampler on unit too. I think I love Motif and will buy the XS8 to me. Bert's demos are always crazy good and fun to watch too.

As far as I know, from softwere to hardware, YAMAHA orchestra sounds more clean and straight than Roland's. It's good for roland to make sweet brass feeling. As to the range of music using, I cline to YAMAHA sound more!
Actually their own styles has been diversed even from the XG vs SC age.
BTW the product in this vid is out of style. You may checkout the MOTIF XS and find a superior YAMAHA sound.

No, but its very similar. Same navigation, motif (SE) sounds,looks alike as well. Big difference is the piano sound, its way better than all the Motif series.
