I red Rall's biography...extremely interesting life! Can u imagine you have a chance to seat and talk with somebody who was directly involved in so high intensity into war conflict which, from nowday's point of view, seems so unreal...where he lives, u have idea?

this is from the Discovery Wings series of the Luftwaffe (1992). This is specifically from the Fw-190 segment.

Finish Air Forces had bf-109 F and model G but no FW-190's. However a short period (june-july 1944) there was a Luftwaffen unit Kuhlmey in Finland with 30-40 FW-190 Jabos (and same amount Stukas). This unit shut down 152 russian aircrafts in 4 weeks while Finnish Air Forces with some 100 fighters (only 40 were modern bf-109's) shut down in that summer about 1000 russian aircrafs. Best aces 20-35 in just few weeks.

Met Herr Rall, in Germany, in, I think, 1972. I was a Thud pilot in RVN and learned a lot just from talking to him for thirty minutes. Amazing man.

It was a short range fighter, and it's big motor was very thirsty. The motor was about 41 litres, if I remember, and it could drink.

I love talking to WWII Vets.
In my hometown of Reading, PA each year we hold one of the largest WWII events in the U.S
I had the plesure of talking with a P-51 Ace and a Me-109 Ace who fought each other over France. Unfortunetly I forgot their names :(.
But The Mustang Ace shot him down and the German bailed out. Both had wondered what happened to the other. About 15 years ago they finaly met up with each other and here they were sitting and laughing, the best of friends.
