As the Superpower of the allies the Russians killed over 7.7 million Germans (75% +).. then at 1945 summit one of the smaller allies america requested Russia help defeat Japan of which the huge Soviet invasion of Manchuria was a key victory.
Following the war "Operation unthinkable" was scrapped as the smaller allies (Britain, america etc) acknowledged they stood zero chance vs Stalin's Soviet Red Army who had bigger military than all others combined. Soviets saved the mofo day.

JG 52 was most successful Luftwaffe fighter wing in ww2. JG 52 shot down over 10,000 aircraft. It was home to the top three scoring Experten of the Luftwaffe, Erich Hartmann, Gerhard Barkhorn and Günther Rall. The unit flew the various marks of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 exclusively through the war. Second best was JG 51 over 8,000 kills.
You forgot Leutnant Hans-Joachim Marseille he score 158 victoris. All against RAF in france and africa 1940-1942.

Yeah. I now see why they started putting the 30mm cannon on any Lufwaffe plane that could take one. Check out 5:53. I'm pretty sure those are hits with the 30mm. Big explosions and flames almost immediately after.

Whoopdee-do. The reason the Germans were able to shoot down so many Allied acrft is because we owned the skies. That's just the fact. We had hundreds to their tens in the air.
Yes, they were good, but no better than American and British...they simply had many, many more to shoot at.
Remember, we sometimes had several thousand bombers and escort fighters in a single mission. Helen Keller could have become an ace.

It's tempting to get angry at seeing just Americans dying here, however, this side of the war is just as important to history.
It is fascinating stuff. My Uncle Muzzie was waist gunner on a Fort. Ugly tales of ugly death on all sides.

This is not a tribute to nazis...this is history, these guys were not all nazis, they were just guys that do things that the high command tell them to do, and as good soldiers they obey.

Erich Rudorffer, a 222 victory ace, and Otto Kittel, a 267 victory ace, and Walter Nowotny, a 258 victory ace were the highest scoring '190 aces in the Luftwaffe. Rudorffer destroyed 138 aircraft flying the Focke-Wulf, 13 in 17 minutes on 11 October 1943. Walter Nowotny scored 197 of his 258 victories in the Fw 190, while Kittel scored all but 21 of his kills in the type.
