Dell recently announced the XPS M1330 a 13.3" widescreen ultraportable and ultra sexy notebook that uses the Intel Santa Rosa platform. Equipped with an available dedicated Nvidia 8400m graphics, slot loading optical drive, LED backlit display, and integrated web-camera, the M1330 is less than 1" thin at the front and weighs in at 4lbs. The following is a quick first take on the Dell M1330.

you can't compare the macbook pr to xps because you can purchase two xps 1330 for the price of one macbook pro. so instead of being a precarious idiot i would customize the xps to meet the same standards as the macbook pro and then some.

I just picked up an XPS desktop for about $1700 and it runs it fine....the laptop should have no problems at all i compared the parts and basically the same...So u can probably run COD 5

alienware is owned by dell. They bought them a while back. Also XPS is more for Multimedia, so if you are a hardcore gamer looking for a laptop look at alienware, if not and is just a casual gamer get this one. I have it and it's great.

this is the worst computer I've ever owned.
DO NOT BUY IT, OR ANY DELL PRODUCT.
I've had this computer for four months. reinstalled the OS several times. replaced the motherborad once. returned it to the manufacturer once. spent lots of time troubleshooting, talking to support, reinstalling, stystem restoring,etc. I will soon throw it into the trash and buy a new computer

A casual gamer is a guy play games, maybe serious but doesn't go on high graphics. If you are a hardcore gamer, you play the latest games on the highest resolutions. Like Crysis, eventhough you need a powerfull laptop to run Crysis.
M1330 is mostly for casual gamers.

i already have my own m1330... the only problem with this laptop is that whenever the cord is plug out, the brightness of the screen usually gets darker... i didnt expect to be as dark as wat i thought... so basically, everytime i use my laptop... i just plug the cord into the outlet to keep the brightness better... im pretty satisfied with my laptop though...

You can change that by tweaking power setting properties. By default most laptops are set to dim screen when running on battery alone.

aok... so how can i possibly go to the power setting properties? i already tried to put the battery into high performance, but unfortunately the screen of my laptop is still dark with battery alone... i will appreciate ur immediate response... tnx!

There has to be a power management utility. I don't run Vista so I'm not sure on that platform. In XP and Ubuntu you can go into power management, or power savings, etc, and uncheck the radio button next to "dim screen to conserve battery life." There should be something of that nature somewhere. If you have problems then call Dell. The LCD might be defective, or perhaps the battery itself is not holding enough power to fully illuminate.

I just ordered a very high spec m1330. It would have easily cost me over a £1,000 but thanks to coupons I found online I cut £150 off the price. What ever you do don't by dell from a third party, you miss out on all the good deals!!! MADNESS!!
