No, Apartheid was evil. There were no universities for blacks in Namibia. The only profesions for blacks were primary school teachers and nursing. Permission was neeeded to travel inside the country. Movies showig blacks in good light were banned in Namibia.
Blacks could only address white as "master". Blacks were not allowed to own any land. Blacks were never allowed to vote. Black politicians were put injail, killed and disappeared. Blacks did not have a future under the Apartheid regime.

I was sorry to hear of her passing. Thanks to Daryl Duke, I met her in 1964 in Toronto. My late step-father, Daryl had her perform on his show Q for Quest through the CBC.
Harry Belafonte was with her then and had helped to smuggle her out of South Africa, six months before as she was facing prosecution for loving a White South African. She was a classy woman with an awesomely haunting voice and very gracious soul.I'm honoured by having known her

I too was unaware of the Queen of African Music's demise! Her voice and energy will live on in my heart! I will always return to this YouTube to hear and see her years of Rhythm and Sounds of LIFE! May she always feel the warm embrace of a world that she embraced and uplifted all her life! Peace and Respect to all who felt that embrace!
