Interesting...this appears to be a rare example of Clapton using a guitar synth! There were a couple shots at the beginning where I could see was using a red Strat style guitar, and I know he took a red Roland G-505 guitar on the Behind The Sun tour to use with his GR-700 on a couple songs, but it was hard to be sure at first.
But then when Eric went into the solo, you could definitely hear the guitar synth. I don't think I've ever heard another live recording of Eric using a guitar synth!

Sorry bud, but Roger Waters wrote down the lyrics before the music ever came about... There are quotes from both where they are found saying that it was weird that the song came after the lyrics... Gilmour is credited with the rift that dominates the song and most of the music

I saw this show 2 nights in a row in Nj. What a show!!! They started with Pros and Cons all the way through and then, encore time. Set the Controls.., Money, wish you were here, comfortably numb, and others.Clapton dressed in Black and stood at the left side of the stage and didnt say 1 word the whole show. he wasnt even introduced. It was amazing how close he sounded to Gilmore on the Floyd songs. Thats a great compliment to david... All in all an awesome 2 nights.......

This version is the one of the greatest. Gilmour's Floyd is boring.

When I saw Roger Waters in 2000 I was struck by how much more true his renditions of Floyd material was compared to Gilmour's Pink Floyd 1987 Ltd. I had watched and listed to Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse and they were OK. Waters' versions seemed much more alive, much more soulful.

why are all Roger lovers Gilmour haters? I don't get it...
there would be no Wish You Were Here if it weren't for Dave
hell, there would be no Pink Floyd
and as great as the lyrics are, it was always the music that first grasped my attention
certainly Roger may be more lively at the shows. I saw him May '08 in Houston and he was really into it, he was absolutely brilliant
but I still like Dave just as much
it's a shame that roger's ego/politics made him impossible to work with

ive seen david w/ rick wright and then saw roger w/ nick mason, and i must say that although seeing both were amazing, gilmour is UNBELIEVABLE and a much better musician live. plus he has the voice hes had for 30 years and still sounds great. rogers voice didnt hold up as well. i wish they wouldve reconciled, esp in leu of sids death, but now with richard deceased i doubt theyll never play together again. floyd is the best regardless.

Roger wrote most of the music of pink floyd, pink floyd wouldn't be pink floyd if it wasn't for him, if you notice, after he left pink floyd, they all of a sudden went sh!t, they weren't even allowed to be called pink floyd anymore up untill the point roger decided to let the rest of the band be named pink floyd again.

Just a matter of opinion, Waters made some good shit, to stay in that line of rating, after PF and so did PF without him, they were both just so different when they parted.

Although David Gilmour and Rick Wright were 'instrumental' in creating the music upon which the lyrics lay... sometimes Gilmour also help make Rogers verbosity singable.
Gilmour Water and Wright, genius' all. Thanks for posting this. Cheers.
Roger and Rick ... ( 3 weeks ago by N8lyQwik)
Roger and Rick wrote lyrics when Syd left, but over time Roger completely took it over. Creation of music fell to Dave and Rick, who excelled at it.
And, they remained Pink Floyd; Roger never granted permission for anything, including rehiring Rick Wright. After all the legal issues were sorted out Rick was made a full band member again, and Roger took custody of the pig. Neither Roger or David granted anything to the other, hence 20 yrs of litigation.

I love Floyd, each one of 'em. Roger, Syd, David, Richard, and Nick... All of 'em did what they had to do. Bring the good music for new generations to come...

How come none of these gigs with Eric Clapton have been offically released? These a are friggen awesome! Just like I'm hoping for an offical video of the original Wall concerts, although there's the Berlin concerts to fill that urge up, there's no other Eric Clapton!
