I think its good that the tuning went down because it gives it more of a Drowning Pool sound. Yes they could have kept it at the same tuning and made it sound more like the original but some bands like to put their own twist on cover songs.

The chorus sounded good but I didn't like the verse....No solo, backup vocals weren't together the whole time. Sounds kind of cool but Drowning Pool should stick to their own style...
