Yes the US Government was trying to deport him because he was opposed to British rule in N. Ireland. Too bad he didn't get a chance to retire off to the coast of Ireland,like he wanted. But he liked NY City as well. People tell me they would bump into him, walking the street like a normal person. No bodyguards,entourage or pretense. Maybe if he was more stuck up or fearful, he'd be alive, but if so, he wouldn't be the same person. Rest in Peace John Lennon.
