This is the annual event in Fresno touted as being the largest American Civil War re-enactment in the country. Not sure of the specifics on that (attendees? reenactors?). It's great fun though and worth the $9 admission.

| This is at Kearney Park in Fresno, CA on Oct 26-28. Friday at noon I think there is supposed to be a skirmish for the schools that come. It is sponsered by the Nat Civil War Assoc and Fresno Historical Society. For the CSA drummer in WA, I am not sure how you get in on it as I have only been doing this since April. The NCWA site may have info. |

| Good evening, Joel. I'm with 3rd Arkansas, Co. E of the 3rd Confederate Infantry Regt; that is us marching by at the end of this vid at around 8:45. We also saw action at the Moorpark event this year which had a really cool battlefield and an evening battle. |

| We're trying to get up a group to go to Gettysburg. I really hope it comes together; I would love to be involved in a large reenactment on an actual battlefield. I'd also like to meet the guys in the REAL 3rd Arkansas. |

| no way in hell is this one of the largest reenactments in the country maybe the west...but definantly not the country cuz out here in ohio some of the reenactments i have been in that are smaller events are way bigger than this |

| usaski--you are absolutely right. In fact, I think last year Moorpark was bigger than this. But this is one of the larger events in the West. A lot of people think it is weird that we reenact out here, but there are a lot of displaced Southerners and others who had ancestors who fought. Also, a lot of the towns in the Central Valley had a large number of Southern sympathizers, and the Union posted a lot of CA soldiers to keep the peace. |

| adamjohnwest you are sorely mistaken about the reenactments in the west. there are some huge ones out here. I have been to some that had about 1500 reenactors and that's just a smaller event. |

| Just to clarify, Fresno is the largest annual reenactment WEST of the Mississippi. It usually has between 2000-2500 reenactors and about 10,000 visitors over the weekend. It also host a school program the Friday before each event with about 2000 kids in attendance. |
