You can get this game to work in Win Xp as well. First you need to install the 1.08 patch. You can find it by Googling red alert 1.08 patch. Copy the patch file to your folder where you installed RA. Doubleclick the patch file to start file extracting. Now, on the folder there should be file named "patch.exe". Doubleclick it. Wait while it patches RA. Dos screen will appear for while. Let it finish.

Now you have patched the game, create shortcut for file named "RA95.exe". Rightclick the shortcut and select Properties. Click Compatiblity tab. Apply following compatiblity settings to shortcut: Windows 95, 256 colors, 640x480, Disable themes and turn off advanced text services.
Apply and ok, launch the game by using this shortcut

EXCEPT Westwoods original concept for frist decade was to clean up the cinematics and repair some online issues with windows XP. EA decided not to fix the cinematics saying "we want to keep it in its originality" and people still get errors on online play for XP and Vista. overall it was just so EA could get a profit really

well 1 and 2 had AWESOME stories and actors and now EA hired famous actors and screwed alot of it up... really I doubt 3 will even follow the story line. what sucks is the actor for RA2's russian general died, so we can't get his awesomeness back.

Specially the graphic! I were looking forward for a new Rel Alert, and wes jumping up and down, when I knew EA would make a new... that's my dissapointment!

Yeah, I think it's fun too. But bored in the lenght!
All those EA games I've tried were okay in the beginning, but in the lenght, the games are just bored! Too much of the same...
C&C3, there's no special things, between the races... they all got a power plant, barrack, warfactory, airplane, I mean wtf?! They all got the same! Too bored in the lenght, I don't play it any more!
I should really get the beta, but FilePlanet were pretty fuck'd when I made my account, so didn't get it...

The beta was exclusive to people who bought Kane's Wrath. Then the late of it was for FilePlanet. Well, about the Airplane, barracks, war factory.. Uhm.. Was the same with the first few games too and those were made by westwood not entirely EA.

Yes, where is good old RA, with time travel, pillars that shoot electricity, killer dogs and teleportation?!
Seriously, there's nothing wrong with RA3. I love it - and I also loved RA1 and 2. Red Alert 2 was awesome, and made by Westwood - and it was just as silly, if not MORE silly than Red Alert 3. Einstein was hammily overplayed, Yuri could control minds and looked like the love-child of Dr. Strangelove and Darth Vader, and killer dolphins, Tesla-eiffel towers and spider-robots are in there!

"Line of stupidity"? None of it is "stupid". You're not going to find war bears and psychic commandos in Starcraft, that's for sure. Starcraft DOES take itself seriously. The RA series doesn't and never did. RA2 was made by Westwood, so nobody can say that it's because of EA either~
