Most people use spring or battery. Gas is not that commonly used, because the guns are more expensive to buy. Spring guns, like sniper rifles can be very powerful. I have a Warrior 1 L96 (spring) and it shoots 470 fps with .20 BB's. Airsoft is awsome, due to the high level of realism of the weapons. You should try it.

After having purchased a VFC Scar, it is apparent to me that the chinese clone has more than a few aesthetic differences. Compare it to the real steel, and then the VFC scar.

well i bet the problem is that you have a plastic gear box and your gears are stripped. this can happen to metal gearboxes also . what gun do you have?

i had the same problem with my scar, try filling the mag to capacity then winding the mag all the way, sounds simple but it worked for me.
