it is not the ... ( 5 months ago by aimsterloo)
it is not the abnormality of the joint...it is the affect that blockages have on the nervous system. You are right, we are not all symmetrical, but we should be able to move properly and not affect the nervous system which is attached to brain function! they help the body work optimally so that when something happens, the body has the ability to sort it out like it is designed to. So chiropractic isn't for you...that doesn't mean it is wrong or that they should be discredited

The point is that those who are informed don't seek the aid of chiropractors. I know it's hard for you to understand with that proto-human skullplate of your blocking all logic, but try and understand that you're not a medical professional. You're no more thna a glorified massage therapist. I really wish there was a way to make you see that your training is about as valid as an internet homeopathy degree, but then again, i AM debating with a 2X4.
On your comment you ... ( 5 months ago by elcabeza63)
On your comment you are basically denying a simple principle of structure and function. There is an intimate correlation between the supportive bony structures and the dynamic components of the neuromuscular system, how could the work separately ?, in another words if we are non symmetrical on our frame the nervous system will follow and function perfectly adjusted.
sure, however ... ( 5 months ago by aimsterloo)
sure, however sometimes there are postural abnormalities pressing on nerves and tissues. your right they all do work together but you don't think that sometimes with stressors on the body and someone who has an abnormality that there is going to be a problem. I know you can't be that closed minded. dislocate your shoulder sometime and let me know if the nervous system and function of the body are perfectly adjusted.

WE DO NOT CLAIM TO BE MD'S. Are you dumb enough not to realize that there are DOCTORATES in fields other than medicine??? MD's don't do what we do and we don't do what MD's do. Explain to me then why my intestinal problems went away with Chiropractic when the Medical treatment I recieved made things worse. I am not discounting medicine it has it's place but SO DOES CHIROPRACTIC. You can't discredit the results I had... Also who are these "So called informed people that don't see DC's"

There are many ignorant individuals here.
Bitchtalking another healthcare field does not make yors any better... it will just ashame your coleagues, since the'll how small-minded you are. This goes for all those for and against physiotherapy and chiroprctics.
Im a physiotherapist, and I believe in manipulation/mobilization tecniques. Once you study the human system, you begin to understant how things are related and how one area can complement the other.
My advice to the ignorant: Read.

The atlas can ... ( 3 months ago by kobidobidog)
The atlas can tilt, rotate and shift from under the foramen magnum .base posterior x rays show exactly how mush the atlas has rotated under the foramen magnum on the sagittal plane. this is what starts the problem in the first place.
Take a spine that ... ( 3 months ago by kobidobidog)
Take a spine that has the disks .suspend it in the air with one finger on each of the wings of the atlas, this is the transverse process. Tilt it slightly in any direction and the whole spine will twist. Therefore when the atlas is in a neutral position the rest of the spine will do its best to find this neutral position. The more the degeneration the less it can. The sooner one has an adjustment the better it is for the whole body and brain as they are intrinsically connected.

I supose my prior health problems that were not solved with medicine which cleared with an atlas correction was in my head? misinformed? What do you think happens to someone when they are whiplashed at fifty mph?DO you not think that that affects the postion and structural integrity of the atlanto-occiptal region. And how come those indivduals that suffer these types 0f injuries ahve all sorts of bizarre NEUROLOGICAL SYMPTOMS?Is it just their muscels and ligaments? let's go answer these questions

You hit the nail on the head. Then again, chiros and their patients are virtually cult-like in their defense of quackery, you'll do no good here helping these misinformed souls.
I found out that ... ( 3 months ago by Magicmanny)
I found out that Atlas/Occipital was the source of my problems and I lost three years of my life to severe fibromyalgia/myofascial syndrome symptoms. I have been unable to work for a year, and I have recently discovered this info and I was baffled on finding out that a subluxation is the cause. I had mucous, thyroid, nerve pain signals, memory loss, etc. and this was all cause a nerve was being pinched and the problem became more severe!

I have had problems with for years, pain at the top of the neck so bad after a weeks work all I could do is lay in the recliner and take muscle relaxers and pain medicine, I went to neurosurgeons, physical therapy. I had an MRI and many x-rays and was told I had arthritis by one doctor an another said I didn't. I am now seeing and upper cervical chiropractor and with 4 weeks of treatment I am fishing on the weekends and sleeping better and have no pain in my neck and have stopped the pills.

It is basically the same thing--except a machine is used. I think in NUCCA, the same small force is used with the chiropractor's hands.

between the skull, ... ( 3 weeks ago by goddesspurple)
between the skull, or occiput, and the 1st vertebra, or atlas, there is not the same degree of help from bony structure to prevent displacement. the brain stem fills this part of the tunnel that is your spinal canal. when there is displacement, there is direct pressure on the brain stem. this accounts for the mulitude of symptoms and disorders that can be positively affected by upper cervical attention.
